Who Wants To Be An Egomaniac? – Matthew Morris. What's up with this place? Are you kidding me? Congratulations on being the stylist on some half-baked photo shoots for a FREE local publication but that hardly justifies the cost of the services in this stark, harsh, noisey, awful place. Hey, my mechanic's name appeared in "Auto Trader" once.....now he charges me $800 for an oil change. If you like the feeling of being condescended to, you'll love this place. The staff, by the way, seems totally miserable, too.
Best In Town! – I have been a client of Matthew's since 2002. I have followed him since his humble beginnings at Planet. Matthew Morris Salon has the best atmosphere, and everyone is always friendly and in a great mood! I have had my hair done at top salons in Chicago, New York, and LA, and Matthew is the best, hands down! My layers always grow out perfectly - so great in fact that I sometimes wait 10 weeks between appointments! Great Haircut for guys – I made an appointment with Matthew to color my hair before a job interview. Being a guy, I was a bit hesitant about washing grays out, but Matthew made me feel completely comfortable about it. He was also helpful with giving me ideas on how to maintain the color and style. The color was subtle enough that it wasn't a huge, obvious change which is exactly what I was looking for. Thank again and I'll be sending my wife there from now on!
WOW watch for Karina's rising star!! – Just discovered Karina at Matthew Morris Salon. Very busy "happening" salon. Karina is a very talented hair cutter and colorist. Cut lots of movement and style into my super straight fine hair. I am thrilled. Will definitely return.
Empty chairs and desperate owners – My wonderful stylist who I've seen for 4 years left Matthew Morris Salon (thank god!) and the salon proceeded to contact me 3 times offering me numerous free services just to stay with them. Lindsey gave my hair style! – Being someone who hates to spend time in the morning styling hair, I would just pull it back in a pony tail most days. My hair is naturally wavy & frizzy & it's too much work to go against nature. Lindsey is the first stylist to actually ask how much time I was willing to put into doing my hair in the morning. Stanley makes this place! Most enjoyable style I've ever had! :) – I decided to treat myself to a more upscale style experience, and I made a good choice! When I first entered, the receptionist desk seemed a lil too busy and I was bummed to see there was no water left. Not the place it once was – I've been going to Matthew Morris almost since the day it opened, but recently it seems it's slipping downhill. The front desk is chaotic. Everytime I go in, there are new receptionists (high turnover can't be a good trait) and new stylists. I miss the familiar faces, and I miss them knowing who I am when I walk in. Nothing hip or busy about this place – I had heard how busy and hip the salons was supposed to be and was excited to get my hair done. I walked in and it was empty except for stylists siting in there own chairs talking to each other and doing each others hair. It was uncomfortable and I felt like I was intruding on their space. There was nothing hip or busy about anyone there and I left unsatisfied and I know I will not be recommending it to any of my friends.
