About a month ago, my wife and I went to Massage Envy in Massapequa to close our account. We were incredibly frustrated because unless we book appointments 4-5 weeks in advance, there are no appointments available at this location, or Farmingdale, or Merrick, etc. As a result, we have each accrued at least 25 + appointments that we have not been able to use for no other reason then there are no appointments available. A single word could describe this place. "Crooks." They definitely are shady as far as their business dealings. SO BEWARE. Upon signing up, they had initially told me I could do a 6 month plan or 1 year. Then said, they weren't sure if the year option was still available. I had told them I just wanted 6 months. This is the worst place in the Boise/Meridian area to get a massage. It is literally impossible to schedule online - no availability for 90 days, and they don't let you schedule any further out. Kept calling to use a gift certificate from my kids, they had paid $150, and Massage Envy promotion added a $40 voucher, so I thought for $190 I'd get at least 3 massages. Instead, I got one. There was a lawsuit for membership fee issues and this location decided because I'm moving and canceled my membership so I didn't get charge later this month that they needed to charge me $120 for a massage even though I previously had been a member since 2009. Needless to say if I'm in a position to use one again I won't. They also like to charge you if you have to cancel the same day - but you're supposed to be okay with just any therapist they have available if your therapist decides to not come in for any reason. In June I scheduled a massage to help with chronic health issues. The receptionist took my basic information (name, address, phone, reason for coming & credit card to hold appointment). Nothing else was said, told or explained. I received a confirmation text. The day of the appointment I had a migraine & needed to cancel, then received a message that she (the receptionist) now needed to explain the 24- hour cancelation policy and that I would be charged the full amount for my missed appointment.
