In 2011 I was returning from the National Corvette Museum in my 1991 Corvette and broke a drivers side windshield wiper spring outside of Mt. Vernon Il. There were no Chevrolet dealers in Mt Vernon, so I visited Martins Automotive. While no parts were available for replacing this spring, they worked and found a brake spring that would make the car driverable until I could get back to Kansas City and order a replacement wiper arm. They really went beyond service in getting me back on the road. What a great shop.
Extremely disappointed with our service. Not honest people, they knew we were traveling cross country and experienced car trouble. Instead of being good people and helping us out, they completely scammed us (and later on admitted to it but said since they already did the work that we had to pay full price, which was DOUBLE what it should've been). Seems like a "locals only" type of place, not a business that we found to be trustworthy. Would never recommend.
Road Trip I was traveling to Tenn. on I 64 when my car failed.They spent the time to attempt to get me going againto resume my trip. Martin's was helpful, concerned, andreally were familiar with what it takes to get a car back on the road. My dealings with them was such that although I could not get the car going again they made provisions to keep my car safe until I could retrieve it a few days later.
