How long did you say the wait was? – I've been only a few times, mostly because I cherish sleeping in on Saturdays. And to go to Marston's means loosing sleep. You have to get there so early, if not you'll be waiting a while before you get seated. The food is good, large portions, sometimes too large. I wouldn't say it's the best in LA but it is pretty good. The crowd is the typical Pasadena crowd, a blend of the wealthy, and the not so wealthy. Either way I'd say try it at least once.
If you have the time......... – this place has the food. I don't come here often because the wait is so long and they don't take reservations. But the few times I've been here I have enjoyed everything I ordered. The breakfast is wonderful and lunch is good too. If you could reserve a table I would be here every week.
Meatloaf Sandwhich YUM! – This place is always packed everytime I drive by. I had the meatloaf sandwhich and my friend had the White Chilli both exceptional. Stop by and enjoy as the others do. Parking a little tough though since the place is always packed.
Marston's schmarston's – On the whole, I can't give it the nod for best breakfast in Pasadena. Great french toast, great pancakes, but overly-greasy omlettes and the bowl of oatmeal take it down a notch. The wait on a Saturday morning can be brutal.
French Toast – That's really all you need to know. Everyone else does, that's why it's always so packed.
