Marsh Woodwinds, the best! I have been a customer of Marsh Woodwinds for 15 years during which time I have bought 4 and sold 3 saxophones, had many repairs and tune-ups and spent much time shopping and chatting with these wonderful people. Of all the retail stores of any kind I have ever been in, this is the best. My only fear is that they are so reasonable in their charges and generous with their time that they won't make it through the recession.
Marsh Woodwinds ROCK! I purchased a 12m 1969 bari sax from Marsh woodwinds. Upon walking in I immediately notice that this was not your ordinary music store. I have not seen a more honest store owner in a long time. After 3 or so weeks I broke the b flat key on the horn I called and explained. Without a hesitation Rodney said to bring it by and he would fix it while I waited. This turned out to be a major repair but he fixed it none the less over the next two hours during the repair I watched him make everything from simple ... read more
Knows his stuff Rodney will never try to push a customer into a purchase, he's far more concerned with making sure it's the right instrument rather than trying to make a buck. I've been a loyal customer for years, and my daughters are huge fans as well. He's the last of the cool cats and has always treated us right. His shop is a unique experience and a real delight. Makes you feel like you've entered the jazz era.
Incredible Service I had a problem with my Tenor saxaphone. I had always heard that Marsh Woodwinds was a great place for service. I found out why yesterday. When I showed up they treated the horn like an emergency room patient - had me up and running in ten minutes! By the way - I am almost embarrsaed to say that the charge was $5. $5 ! what kind of service can you get in 2007 for $5? This place is truly a treasure for the music community. Thank you- Jay Miller
Musically minded? Marsh woodwinds is where I purchased my flute when I started in middle school band fifteen years ago. Still around today, Marsh woodwinds is a greta place to purchase a first time instrument, or get the one you have repaired. Great prices, and a FANTASTIC staff
Jon M. Awesome!! Took my son's Yamaha tenor sax in for evaluation, tune up, etc. Repair was made in less than 5 minutes. NO CHARGE!!! I asked whether it needed any adjustment or anything. The answer was "no, it is in great shape. Play it for a while and if it needs anything later, bring it back." I am totally pleased to have an HONEST service experience with Marsh Woodwinds. I highly recommend this business now and in the future. Way to go!! Thanks
Passive Aggressive Rodney, could not have been more rude and demeaning. His needlessly arrogant attitude overshadows whatever knowledge or skill he may have. If he does not like interacting with the public, he should find something else to do. Certainly, there are alternatives to his services and we certainly are going elsewhere.
Great service Marsh Woodwinds is a real specialist. They did a great job of overhauling my flute. I also purchased a used piccolo for my daughter there. Great service. Very interesting store with a quirky collection of old instruments and sheet music to look at while you wait.
Hugh the screaming lunatic Horrible horrible service! Rodney took my fiancées sax, and apparently there has been some sort of an emergency, as Rodney is not there. Hugh informed me today that the sax would not be ready by this weekend (the date that was guaranteed). When I asked to take the sax and if this is how business is normally handled he screamed into the phone saying "just pick up your Goddamn sax) and hung up the phone. Not only do I not have my sax fixed, but never once was there an apology, but instead a screamin... read more
