This restaurant sits in a great area. We went for Sunday brunch and the only negative I could find were; make sure they know that you were there before someone else for service. We were there waiting when another group of people walked in behind us yet the server try to see them first. Same thing happened when it came time to order, the server went to the table next to us which arrived five minutes after us and took their order, serve them first. Love hole-in-the-wall neighborhood places, especially places that serve breakfast all day! My veggie seafood omelette was good. My daughter ordered "Mark's Mom's Homestyle Flounder and it was delicious! My husband ordered the Chateau Tenderloin steak; he wanted it rare, and it was definitely cooked medium, but it was still good. Our friend, who lives in Takoma Park and comes to Mark's often, ordered a vegan dish and was pleased. Appealing, multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-generational vibe, but slow, erratic service and average to below average food without much care for presentation. No need to go back.

Mark's Kitchen has been a favorite for my family for over 20 years, since it began. We now live in New England, but visits back to Takoma Park always include trips to Mark's! It makes TkPk feel like home. Favorite menu items include the asparagus fried rice and mahn doo.
