He's is rude and can't decide between treatment options, insurance requirements, or how to deal with patients questions. He's got a huge chip on his shoulder about not working at a prominent hospital. Complained about all his patients going to better doctors at HSS with more expertise.

Doesn’t seem to listen to anything you say, quickly diagnoses issue without explanation or suggestions for pain relief, alternative treatments, etc. Doesn’t understand the cost of treatment can be a problem as well as time off from work.

Dr Kavenaugh is very knowledgeable and attentive. I've seem him several times in the Clifton office and was very impressed with him and his staff. Very professionally run organization.

If you’re looking for a kind and gentle doctor, one who will be careful during the exam, run for the hills. This one actually hurt me by applying too much (and unnecessary) force to my arm/shoulder. The rest of the day, my shoulder hurt even more than before I saw him. Meanwhile, he talked down to me (and I had done my homework and knew the terminology). It bordered on ‘medical mansplaining,’ which was the opposite of comforting. I do not recommend him at all.

Dr didn’t care that cast was way too tight on my upper arm (not necessary for a wrist break I think). I had to ice my arm every night in order to go to sleep. Break didn’t heal properly, although initially I was told it would/I was lucky with how it broke. Although I was a reasonably difficult patient, I think in the normal world he’d be considered rude, but compared to other orthopedic doctors I’d say he was polite.

Saw an“ego”who refers to itself as Dr Kavanagh tonight. The rudest most unprofessional “ego” I have ever met. Was rushed and unheard. When I stated my concerns “ego” said it was busy doing other things. When I continued to express my concerns regarding the rushed, no exam, ego stated it spent 20 minutes with me.This is a consult costing hundreds of dollars. I pay $1400/ month for my health insurance.I am paying for this service.I deserve and expect undecided attention not told this isn’t the 8O’s

I was so nervous after a slip and fall that my knee that had been slammed into a floor wouldn't be ok...Dr Kavanaugh was so reassuring and was very knowledgeable. He's a very compassionate person. Great manner I highly recommend.

Treated for a arm injury for a year and a half about. The last 6 months something happened and said it was different, something else was wrong. I was told no all was the same. 6 months later move to prep for surgery and sent for a MRI. The results came back and there was more than he had thought and I expressed something else was wrong! I was not heard and felt that more should have been done when I expressed my concerns with how my arm felt!
