Worst experience I ever had. Would not recommend Mark K. to do a dog house. I paid a little over 22,000 dollars and my roof looks like a amateur did it. Everyone I spoke to I who came out to see the problems had a different excuse. I even went up on the roof to show them the problems and when they were done they still left problems. They shingled over scraps of old shingles which left high spots in the new shingles and they left tar all over the new roof which is unsightly. The roof has high spots because of high truss which is something we can't fix. Roof passed all inspections and has a full manufacturer warranty.
I called 4 roofing companies for estimates for a new roof, the day before Kaufman was due a young lady showed up she said she worked for Kaufman and asked if she could inspect our roof to see if we could get a mostly free roof. She came down from the roof, saying she had good news, she had pictures showing some damage and then told us she guaranteed she could get us a new roof. I called five roofing companies for quotes. Mark Kaufman Roofing came in the middle between 22k and 16k for a complete roof. They offered a great warranty compared to the others. They also saw things that needed to be done that the others did not quote. They were prompt and well organized as scheduled. The crew was respectful and worked very hard. I contracted with Mark Kaufman Roofing thinking they were a cut above the rest. However I found this to not be accurate. Friday evening right after they laid the new underlayment we had a hard downpour. We literally had water running down from a water closet vent fan, soaking the ceiling, floor, and trim underneath it. Additionally, we had a leak in a different area leaving the ceiling wet. I called the main office, the job supervisor's cell phone, and even left an email on the main web site. They did a great job in a short amount of time. Cleaned everything up neat and tidy. Friendly employees and owner, with good communication.
I contacted Mark Kaufman Roofing in North Port, FL for a repair on my roof. The estimator came out and stated "all of the plywood will need to be replaced." The estimator emailed a written estimate with cost. On the day of the repair the work crew stated they didn't need to replace any plywood. (They also didn't bring any plywood with them).
