Had a colonoscopy. The Good The registration staff was professional, helpful, and efficient. The nurse, Jessica was terrific. She was thorough, professional, personable, and effective. The Bad Felt like I was on a "colonoscopy conveyor belt" - it's one thing to be efficient, it's another to be impersonal, condescending, and rushed in your interactions-which Dr. DeMeo and the anesthesiologist were. The anesthesiologist was unimpressive -did not care for his rushed and flippant manner. I went under, came out of and recovered f... read more
Dr. DeMeo refused to further investigate my symptoms before allowing me to become so malnourished I needed a feeding tube. He allowed me to slowly die right in front of him. After pushing for a feeding tube and having multiple tubes placed (ordered by his office) him, nor his staff, did not contact me to check in after the procedures. They are dismissive and allow multiple of their patients to get significantly worse and then require extreme help or a feeding tube. I leave his office every time feeling belittled and on my ow... read more
Guy seems to know just about everything there is to know about GI stuff, but unfortunately is awful at explaining it to anyone who is not also a GI expert.
Great personality and astute analyst of medical conditions. He always has time to answer all your questions.
He was recommended to me by someone else with my condition, but he wasn't willing to follow up on any of the ideas he mentioned in my appointment and ultimately didn't believe anything I said about my symptoms. The only option he gave me was something I had tried multiple times that made me worse every time and didn't make sense with my symptoms and test results, which he ignored. He made unprofessional comments about my body's appearance that were very creepy. He got upset with me for taking notes and asking questions (whic... read more
I had a great visit and wish I could leave more than 5 stars. He’s smart, an excellent listener, caring and very gracious.I have a medically complex case that no other GI has been able to figure out or even believe my description of, but he knew exactly what I have and knows how to treat it. He treated me with so much respect too. I left his office so overjoyed and in tears of joy.
He's knowledgeable about conditions that some doctors aren't familiar with, but my case was too complex for him, and he made several errors before his office just stopped following up with me. He also made some comments about my body that were highly inappropriate and had a very arrogant manner. He also got mad at me for taking notes in my appointment.
The office staff is terrible. They will not spend a minute to answer simple questions about procedure I was scheduled for. I had to read on internet To find what I could expect after procedure! I needed a prescription before procedure, which I was completely unaware of. The procedure was done three weeks ago, and no one has bothered to call me with results. I suppose that’s good news, but what if it’s not??? I waited on hold 16 minutes this morning to talk to someone there, but gave up waiting. Guess I’ll try again tomorrow.... read more
Excellent bedside manner, thoughtful, proactive, I just wish communication would not take weeks on end... busy and all... But still very highly recommended!
