best recommendations I was delighted to happen upon Maria at Mario's for a perm recently. I couldn't have been more pleased. From Maria's excellent cut and perm to the tasty homemade treats, coffee and conversation offered whilst I processed, I had lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend Mario's. Most fun I've had getting permed in a long time.
The Good and Bad Debbie is great for getting eyebrows done but the few cuts I have gotten with Anna have been pretty mediocre and the last one I got was just bad. I had gotten a cut I liked from someone else and asked her to just clean that cut up but she was in a rush and cut my hair all one length (which looks bad as I have wavy hair.. no one has done that to me since I stopped going to Supercuts after college) and didn't really touch the bangs. PENOMENAL WOW , I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AT HOW MY HAIR COME OUT. VERY AFFORDABLE PRICES. THE STYLIST NAME WAS ZEN. SHE COLORED AND HIGHLIGHTED,CUT AND WAXED IN LESS THEN TWO HOURS,OTHER PLACES TAKE 4 OR 5 HOURS. I LOVE THE CUT AND STYLE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
MARIOS IS THE BEST!!! I started at Mario's in the early 90s when I lived in Somerville. Now I live in Littleton and work in Lowell, MA and I can't find a salon better than Mario's. I drove over an hour today and it was totally worth it for Rosa to make me feel like and look like $100 bucks!
decent prices, good styles Mario's Salon is conveniently located right across the street from the Davis T stop. It caters mostly to the Tufts crowd, but I've seen people of all ages in hair. The stylists are knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable (a little high but expected from a salon). You can get walk-in service here so don't be afraid to just go in. Son with Autism We have been coming to Mario's for over 25 years. We moved from Boston to Vermont in 1992 and still come down to the city to get our hair cut and colored. Our children are now in their twenties, one of them is autistic and the outstanding group at Mario's have gone above and beyond to treat us and our son with great kindness, care and given us excellent style. THE ARE THE BEST!
Hair and Brows Usually it's good. The price changes a lot which I don't like. For eyebrows see Zen or go to the VIP Spa in Cambridge. No one else knows how to do brows there.
Mario's Salon is wonderful Zen is by far one of the best hair dressers there, she does a wonderful wax as well, i tell her what i want and it comes out exactly how I pictured it ! thanks zen!
