I rarely write bad review when I am unhappy with a service, as long as attempts to make amends are made. However, I chose to write this due to Carlos' complete and total lack of compassion or willingness to apologize for how devastated I am. First off, it is clear that Carlos is good at cutting curly hair, but he is TERRIBLE at listening to or taking feedback from his customers. best salon ever! – I've been a client of Mario Diab for 5 years(i have my haircut and highlights with him), I've sent my girlfriends, and family to the salon and they have all loved it. The worst experience of my life – Salon Mario Diab wow i don't know where to start ...they project that nice and fancy salon to the stars but in fact the staff and Mario himslef are very unprofessional. they have different quotes on daily basis it's like the stock market... overpriced services-rude staff and owner-if this is what you have to go through to visit the "salon to the stars"well let's leave it for the stars... when i discussed prices with Mario his answer was that he needs to make 150$/hr to have a profitable busi... read more
Disappointed!!! – Sorry for the money of $135-200, I had high expectations and after seeing all the high reviews here. The place, ambiance, staffs, and the haircut I got was very AVERAGE, literally, stylishly, and experientially. I could get the same for $70-80 in many places in the city. I aslo had a rude exchange with "Dmitri" manager, who wasn't very professional sounding, nor reasonable and came off like he couldn't care less of retaining the customers base. I just found out that she is gonna be coming to NYC once a month at Mario's salon, shes gonna be here this saturday the 2nd and I just called to make my appointment with her!! Im so excited!! Amazing! – I was in desperate need of a cut and Mario did such an amazing job! Not to mention the best blowout ever! I have naturally curly hair and it took him about 7 minutes total to make my hair straight. Plus, my hair still looked great the next day! I highly recommend him!
Best Blonde in NYC!!! – Thanks Leslie for helping me with my color!!! Leslie is a new comer to NYC. She hails from sunny CA which means she knows her blondes. I put her in my hands and she instantly made me feel comfotable and confident. I left with a fresh new color feeling bright and shiny again.....no more yucky brassy tones. Yea Eric, style lives in this city! – I moved to America 10 years ago from Italy. After a few bad experiences I decided I would never get my hair cut in this city again. It took me a bit before finding a decent person who could style my hair. I have finally found him! Eric who is at Mario Diab Salon in Soho. He has saved me from the first visit, The best haircut in this city! I look forward to events and love having Eric help keep me up to par.
Robert's Great – When I first met Robert I'd been going to another salon and had never been quiet satisfied with my cut. A friend of mine had a great cut and I asked her who did it. Robert happened to be in the neighborhood, so I made an appointment. Finally! A stylist who understood what I'd wanted all along! Actually, he knew better than me.
