I encourage you to look the owner's name up online to see their criminal history. I've rented from Marina del Rey Boat Rentals twice. The first time was fine; the second was awful, and the difference was entirely the owner, Mark. The staff are friendly and kind — Mark is not. He treated customers and his own employees with open disrespect, inventing charges and rules on the spot. Wonderful experience to be able to rent a boat and tour the harbor. Company was very friendly and easy to work with. Only reason I didn’t mark it as five stars is because our steering was very off. The wheel wasn’t secure and you would make several whole turns before the boat would turn making it difficult at times to avoid all the kayak people quickly. Would for sure recommend and do again. We had children with us as well who loved looking at all the boats and seeing the sea lions.

I’ve been coming to Marina Del Rey Boat Rental for several years and love the place. Everyone’s nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Stella, the resident Golden Retriever is always great to see!

NEVER RENT FROM HERE!! Go literally anywhere else. Horrible treatment. Owner/manager is a MEAN, nasty, rude, Jerk (because I can't use worse language on here), and in one conversation managed to alienate me, my family, and his own employee (who left abruptly slamming the door behind her). He refused to rent to us because we were late, and he had already charged our credit card, then we finally succeeded in talking him into (begging, arguing) allowing us to rent from him so long as we paid more.

First of all, this experience was excellent. Me and my party (of 3) took the 21ft out for three hours and it was great, we had full freedom to go however far up the coastline as we wanted . The boat was also very nice with a good speed and intuitive systems. Moreover the briefing from Mark was very comprehensive, he covered all of the rules and regulations. Would recommend!!
