Marila Nery is the best doctor I have ever had. She is truly caring, compassionate, and attentive, and she always made me feel heard, respected, and supported. I had hoped she would return to UM as a practicing physician, though I understand she is now teaching. Her absence is a great loss to her patients, as doctors with her level of empathy and dedication are rare. Hopefully, the new physicians she is mentoring will gain even a fraction of her character, professionalism, and genuine care for patients.
