Good food w/lots of cheese! I've been coming to Maria Bonita's for several years. When we go to Ventura, many times we'll stop here for lunch. The service is always good & you get your food in a timely manner. I love that fact that they use so much cheese! This makes me happy! I always refer people to this great restaurant.
The owner, or manager, we felt, was arrogant, hurried, unconcerned, rude and unaccommodating. We felt the food was greasy, the salsa seemed watered down and the prices expensive for what unexciting food they dish out. The atmosphere was depressing and seemed dingy and unclean to us. They must rely on the busy street, on which they're located, for business, which was slow when we were there. Restaurant This is a very small locally owned Mexican food restaurant that has been around for a few years.The food is very good.The tomales are the best I have every tasted.You can also go in any time and get tomales by the 1/2 dozen or dozen. Everything is home made.The employees are very nice & the service is excellent.I highly recommend this business.
