Dr Rankin has been my orthopedist for years now. He is a dedicated, kind and knowledgable specialist that I am glad to have him treat me & highly recommend him to others seeking an orthopedist.
Darn, I can't give 10 stars. Dr. Rankin has magic hands. My femur near the hip broke spontaneously and he was the emergency orthopedic surgeon at Sibley. I had unusually little bruising and a fortunate, very good recovery. He also is known for his genuine kindness and the time he takes to explain what is going on to you.
Phenomenal experience. Dr. Rankin was very knowledgeable and accessible and I had a very successful result after my total knee replacement. He replaced my knee and straightened my leg in under two hours. He was very clear that he gave me the mechanical ability to do well but that I had to commit to PT so that's what I did. He worked hard to resolve some issues I had with discomfort (not really pain) from a shortened hamstring that prevented me from sleeping more than 30 minutes at a time. Total Superstar... Skillful, kind, intellectually curious... Openly searched Google in his office with me to triple check his diagnosis and prognosis, which proved to be completely correct, though he never breathed a word a smugness and instead credited me the patient for getting more perspective. His combination of limited steroids and lots of isometrics 100% worked. I'd vote for him for president.
