RecommendedWe bought three 1-gallon maples. Unfortunately even with the ties they have a bumpy ride and lost some leaves and one of them fall sideways on arrival. Definitely recommend to buy 4 (rather than trios) to prevent that transit problem. I could definitely tell they have tried hard to secure/protect the package the best they could. All the Japanese Maple trees I have ordered have been excellent, in great health & condition. The art of developing healthy cultivars is in roots stock and quality of the graft. I live in California and the packaging for shipping has been superb, all trees have arrive in outstanding condition. ordered a 3 gallon Beni shichihenge. it definitely was not a 3 gallon tree. more like a 3 quart tree maybe a gallon if lucky. either way Its much much much smaller than other 3 gallons i have ordered. will not be ordering from here again. 3 gallon trees arent a foot tall
