Wanted it to be better than it was. OK
As a proclaimed "foodie" I am blown away by the food quality, classy presentation and freshness of the ingredients. A+ service.
I love going here for the skinny pepino. The patio is gorgeous and the staff are extra friendly. My favorite dish is the relleno en nogado, and be sure to try the coconut flan!
The food and drinks were acceptable, but they were overpriced. For that price, we expected better. The service was despicable and deplorable. The manager and the owner attempted to refuse service because one of us was disabled and had a medical alert service animal. The disabled person was clearly wearing Medical Alert Tags. The service animal was in a crate, clearly marked "Medical Service Alert Animal" and "Service Animal, Access Required by Law." Copies of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act with regard to Service... read more
so disappointed – Amazing service but the food was terrible!!! The food had no flavor, the meat was dry, and even the drink I had was boring. It's overpriced and not that great, bummer.
Where's the old Manuel's! Please come back! – I ate here this weekend and was so disappointed. I've been a fan for years and have recommended Manuel's to a number of friends. I loved there chicken flautus, but yesterday's new recipe was awful. The chicken use to be so good and it was stringy and with some bad tasting tomato liquid. The black beans that use to come on the hot plate with your entre was served in what tasted like a week old tortilla cup and the beans were cold and the cup mushy. The entre use to come with a hel... read more
Best Mexican Food in Austin – We had dinner on the patio recently which is one of my most favorite patios in Austin with the fountains and big trees. It was beautiful! The food was excellent! We had the queso, one of the best! The menu has some changes and we loved the ceviche with fresh tuna...and the tortilla soup is also to die for..don't miss the delicious flan for dessert. Manuels is EXCELLENT!
What's up with the change of fajita seasoning??? – I hate the new seasoning in the fajita's so now what....was our favorite place but not for fajita's anymore since they changed their recipe that they had for over a decade. Why would a high rated restaurant do that to its customers??? HELLO GO BACK TO YOUR OLD RECIPE UNTIL THEN SEE YA! ADIOS!!
Low Class Joint – The Happy Hour drinks are the biggest rip off in a while. I ordered a well bourbon and coke and got a glass the size of a thimble with no trace or bourbon for the Happy Hour price of $4.00. The manager, Pepe, stated that the bar serves 1.5 oz of alcohol and that if we wanted to BUY another drink, he would stand by the bartender and make sure we got a full shot! He refused to offer us a comp and when I mentioned it, he said that he would but that he wanted us to know that he really didn't have to. He comped ... read more
