I could live in this place. As a current gm of a restaurant, I would love to open the restaurant lounge again. Character and architecture is superb.
I like it. It is an amazing historic building (built in 1890's, I think) with lots of original woodwork and furniture (next to the lobby is the original living room with a piano and furniture pieces from 19th century). It has a ton of character and a haunted room (306!). There are black and white photos of early years of Port Townsend which was thought to become NY of the West coast. I had a amazing time there I love spooky stuff and this place is creepy but not in a scary way but just in you know something is there type of way the food is yummy the staff is amazing and I wish I could of stayed longer :)
The work that you have to put in to stay in a room that is not cleaned the bathroom is down the hall for a Jacuzzi suite is ridiculous. To top it the venue was not cleaned, reserved of kept up. (Strangers signed our guest book) We reserved in June for November and by time the wedding came half the lights didnt work and the room was trashed. We had to clean it before our event and cleaned it after. The morning after our event the manager Jodi didn't care at all as we walked in. Stayed here for my Bday. Greeted & checked in early, nice clean room w a great view but lame pillows. Unfortunately such a beauty of a hotel but would hv been nice to enjoy the lounge/restaurant. No paranormal activity, only other bday girls running in the halls. Glad I brought tennis shoes for the trek to the 3rd floor (needed it). Would stay again for the off season price but not in summer w no a/c & $!
