My mom, who had Dementia, was in Manor Care South for a few years until she passed this past January. The Administrator, Kelsey and Business manager, Beth are top notch. Each of them were very professional, caring and compassionate. Each helped immensely with any family issues that arose. Nancy, the Activities person was wonderful to my mom. My Dad who had dementia fell and broke his leg. He was in the hospital for a few days and then sent to ManorCare. It was clear that he would not be coming home and we were heart broken! Everyone at ManorCare was amazing with him AND us! Gently guiding us through every step of the process and assuring us that he was doing well. My mother had a stroke and after exhausting the time allowed for rehab at the hospital was taken to ManorCare south to continue her therapy. The therapy staff was very attentive and helpful to her and me and progress was made. The assigned doctor prescribed the correct medications and dosages that are being continued to this day to good effect. Staff was courteous though at times overworked. Went there for rehab after surgery. Had very good care from everyone---most staff was very pleasant and helpful. The facility is older so it is a bit dated and not as bright and shiny as some of the other nursing facilities but is adequate. (And the TVs are HORRIBLE!--THE REMOTES ARE VERY OUTDATED, probably from the 1960's or 70's---IE you cannot go directly from channel 6 to say, channel 38 for example---you have to go to every channel along the way, one at a time, to change so you miss 1/2 the shows you want to watch!!!
