it should NEVER take over 30mins for a nurse to respond to a call light! what if your patient is choking or having problems breathing they would be dead by the time someone responds AND manorcare WILL have 1 hell of a lawsuit!
I can’t say 100% no but when you’re told you can’t have your morning meds until they talk to nurse practitioner (after you’ve been asking for 4 hrs) and the hospital wrote script orders and sent with you to Manorcare and nurse practitioner now says to wait until tomorrow??? Are you flipping kidding me?? I sure hope the PT is better or I guess I’ll be taking my loved one somewhere else!
This place lacks organization and structure. when my mom was there it took 3 hours when she needed to use the restroom and she was non weight bearing on her leg. They had some good nurses and cnas but some were just lazy and there to put in their time. It takes people who care to make a facility like this a success. on some days she didnt get out of bed. there wasn't anyone to take her to dining room. they would come in at 5pm then say oh it's too late
Great nurses and other techs- food ain't too bad, they really care about your nutrition. The gym is is pretty well up-to-date with modern equipment- they tell me I may be here for a couple of weeks yet.

My mom was a patient there and her care was fantastic!! Therapy was wonderful and got her back moving and back home where she wanted to be. The nursing staff was great and worked with me daily as my moms advocate with her medications and care. Both my mom and I met some great staff who were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this facility!!
My grandma was a patient there and she was well taken care of! They made her feel safe and comfortable and the nurses were like a family to her. The staff there were kind and could always put a smile on our face, they were very helpful too! Every time we would go visit her in her room the rooms were cleaned and looked tidy. I highly recommend this place!

While it is clean... I wasn't happy to learn that residents receive baths twice a week. It's a bit of a wait for call lights to be answered. Also apparently only doctors can cut the residents nails, or they have to pay out of pocket (or added to their monthly bill) for the in house salon to do it. and if you (the family member) do not ask for it to happen, it won't. The doctor also only visits once a month. Family is not informed of care plan, even though documents were signed to be informed of care plans and progress. Good ... read more
