THe Very Best – I can not began to tell you how wonderful Mannys Retaurant is. Fantastic food , wonderful service and wonderful surroundings. There are no such things as "Speedy Gonzalezes" or Tex- Mex type food items. This is a Authentic Mexican restaurant that serves Authentic Mexican food. They have by far the best pork in town not to mention mouth watering cheese dip. Wash that down with the best Margs in town and you have had your self a wonderful evening. Do not be fooled by Mannys competitors who sign up on websites l... read more
Thanks to loyal fans, this phoenix-like cantina survived the flames and still wraps the West Side's best burritos. – In Short Manny Lopez and his Mexican restaurant are West Side legends. Their following is so loyal that when a fire devastated the restaurant, faithful diners helped rebuild it and make it better than ever. The cavernous restaurant maintained its cantina feel. And, during weekends, plucky Mariachi music can be heard. Burritos rule with nine options. Handmade fresh tamales, sizzling fajitas, soft tacos and ques... read more
KC's Best – I travel all over the country and still can't find any Mexican food that is better.
Still Waiting – Ok, we used to go to the Stanley Manny's. It closed and we ventured up to SW Blvd for the first time after going to Union Station. Hostess told us it would be a 20 minute wait, well we settled in and patiently waited. 40 minutes later I ask the hostess how much longer. Another gal (who used to be at the Stanley restaurant) was taking people coming in the door and immediately seated them. I protested and we left. I was looking forward to some good burritos, drove all the way back down to Stanleys and went to J... read more
Gringos Like It – The only people that like Margarita's, Manny's, and Jalapeno's are those that don't know good Mexican food. If you like greasy, yellow cheesy, and uninspired Americanized-Mexican food, these are the places for you. My dinner was burned around the edges the second time I went in - have never returned.
MOST OVERRATED JOINT IN TOWN – I'VE BEEN HERE NUNEROUS TIMES. I PAID THEM GOOD MONEY FOR BAD FOOD: EACH AND EVERY TIME! MY YUPPIE FRIENDS, I HAVE A FEW, GO TO THIS PLACE, GOD KNOWS WHY, THEY DON'T LIKE THE FOOD EITHER.
What is the hype? – After a recent lunch visit to Manny's to try and get to the root of the hype from fellow co-workers, I still don't get it. While the chips-n-salsa are good, the food is terribly average. More authentic fare is further west down the Boulevard and better food can be found at even On The Border (yikes!). PLEASE tell me what I am missing....if you can find a parking spot.
10 – If you like Mexican food, then Manny's is it! The location on 150th in Overland Park is an excellent location with incredible, authentic mexican and good atmosphere. It's a must eat!
A favorite – My husband and I eat at Manny's at least once a month. The chips are warm and perfect, the salsa hits the spot, and the best part is, we can eat cheaply. My favorite is the Para Su Gusto and the Monterey Chicken burrito. Service is always great, and the product consistent.
