I have been using Mannikins Tailoring for over two decades. She is professional and does quality work. She is honest and will tell you your realistic options rather than candy coat the truth. When my cloths need to be let out or in she is the one I count on and I have yet to be disappointed. Hard worker - Yes! Available when needed - Check! Reasonable price - Affirmative! Good location – right down town! Knows the score of the football game – Not always, but sometimes! Never the less, I recommend her to anyone!

Mannikins does a fantastic job altering, repairing, and restructuring. I trust her with my vintage clothing because she honestly gives me options or tells me if the end result won't turn out well. Whenever she had a different opinion than mine about the alteration, and after explaining why it wouldn't work, it turned out her ideas were much better. I brought my first alteration to Mannikins after my usual tailor was reluctant to alter an evening gown for me due to its complicated construction. i.e. it would cost too much, take too long, and exceed the value of the dress. I went to Mannikins and Catherine (the owner) told me she could make it work, and she also made some additional suggestions which I had not considered. She did a beautiful job, and her price was very fair, especially considering my unreasonable request (in my opinion) to have it finished in a few days.... read more

I had a couture suit altered by Mannikins along with some pants that had become too small for me. Everything was done professionally. The work was excellent and the turn around very quick. I would not hesitate to recommend highly

I've been going to Mannikins for several years. I regularly need to have pants hemmed and Mannikins is the place for me! Its fast, convenient, and reasonably priced!

This is the only place in town that I trust for ALL of my tailoring. I've been going for a couple years now. The owner is very friendly, knowledgable & easy to work with. She's super patient (a necessity w/ me:) anytime I need a jacket, shirt or jeans altered ... This is the spot. I love that the shop in downtown too!

I went to this place on a recommendation from Banana Republic I was so pleased with their work I would highly recommend them. The turnaround time was very quick and the work impeccable.

Rude – If there was one thing I learned today it was ALWAYS ask the price before agreeing to let someone alter my clothes. After hearing that Manikins was the place in SLO for alterations, I was very disappointed when I picked my bridesmaids dress. When I originally walked into Manikins Tailor, Catherine Doyles (owner) seemed very cheerful.
