I stopped in to drop off my down jacket that ripped and was leaving feathers everywhere. The business owner was very kind, took my jacket, had it fixed up in just a couple of minutes and wouldn’t even let me leave her any $ for it. Granted it was a smaller job but great customer service and a job well done will definitely bring me back for future tailoring needs

Rick Levin - I have gone to all three of the tailors in San Luis Obispo. After getting quotes from two of them and fainting from sticker shock, a friend recommended Katherine at Mannikins. Her quote was very reasonable. She was so much less than the other two tailors, I was worried that the quality of her work might not be very good. Here is one situation where I feel I got more than I paid for. At Mannikins, quality craftsmanship and value go hand in hand.
I'm new in the area. I tried two other places, with very poor results. Then I discovered Mannikins!! The best!! I will bring everything here from now on. The only alterations shop that knew how to handle my stretch fabrics. Excellent!!
I have checked out the other two tailors in town and found them to be overly expensive. Mannikins has proven to be conhsistantly reasonable for a wide range of tailoring. You can't judge on price alone however. And here is where Mannikins is such a value. Not only is the pricing extremely fair, but the level of craftsmanship is excellent. My wife and I have use Mannikins for every kind of tailoring and each and every time, the results have never disappointed us. Rick Levin
Stretch fabrics.....you find them everywhere today....workout wear, sweats, dresses, elegant pants. Stretch fabrics require a special machine for hemming. It is called a coverstitch. It sews in a manner that allows for stretch in the thread. So when your fabric stretches it won't break the thread. For an excellent job, make sure your tailor uses a coverstitch machine. MANNIKINS does.
