I had an experience where a monthly rent payment was returned to the bank due to insufficient funds. This NSF payment was made by the parent of my son's previous roommate that had moved out and not been on the lease for 3 months. Apparently the parent forgot to remove their payment information from their portal, and the account they were using to make payments had been closed. Sent me to collections for a cleaning and damage fee and refused to give me proof of the damages when I requested it before paying. Tacked on an additional illegal fee after that. Absolute Scammers!
We’ve rented houses and apartments in Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, and TN and MMC was by FAR the easiest and most reasonable rental company we have ever ever worked with. I cannot recommend them enough. They answered the phone with kindness every time I called, and if they didn’t know the answer to my question, they got back to me promptly. Submitted application on a rental home first, paid deposit first. And yet someone else was “approved” first so they got the house. We are out 100 bucks that “can be applied to another one of their properties” but can’t get our money back. They didn’t even have the decency to call and notify me, simply sent an email. I feel scammed. Would not reccommend
