Campbell's Benedict was incredible. Can't wait to try the pie!
I am local San Marcos resident. My husband and I eat there regularly, at least once a week. The food is consistently good and served hot, no matter what you order. The wait times can be long, but anything great is worth waiting for. They have recently put in a gift shop and lounge where you can shop and get a coffee or tea while waiting. Seriously the best Chicken Fried Steak in the world! Everything is scratch made and you can taste it. So good! Plus got some Christmas shopping done in the cute store attached
Mama Kat's is the finest breakfast/lunch/coffee shop restaurant in the county. Period! The food is great. The staff is friendly and efficient. The owners are some of the hardest working people I've ever met. Weekends can be tough if you're in a hurry, but why hurry? Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and try it. You'll become a believer.
Love the renovations, gift shop, coffee while you wait, friendly staff! Everyone is so hardworking and clearly loves this wonderful place!!
They took a long time to get my party seated (we had reserved with time to have our office Christmas breakfast). The lights went out for awhile and we decided to stick around instead of going to another restaurant and once the lights were back on, the staff seemed rushed which ended feeling like they wanted us out ASAP since we were taking a large area of their restaurant. No discount or at least a slice of pie for sticking around until the electricity was back on.

i LOVE the space! they could jam a ton more tables in here, but i love the elbow room. the cutest bathroom in the world. i bought a candle from the gift store. and Noel was the sweetest server EVER. i would go back again just to ask for her. (thought everyone in the store was super friendly and eager to please)....coming back for biscuits and gravy!
I moved to San Marcos back in mid-October. Needless to say, I needed to find a new brunch place since First Watch is nowhere near. Found this little nugget through Yelp, and I am hooked. The atmosphere, the servers and yes, the food! I'm going to try to keep this my Sunday routine, but depending on the wait time because everyone loves this place...may have to be every other Sunday. Lol.
