Great place to go – This place is great if you're looking for awesome seafood, nice ocean views, and a casual atmosphere. I went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with the beach crowd, however we didn't have to wait too long to get our order. The clam chowder was delicious, really good fish and chips, and we loved the boiled shrimp. The best part about this place? You can bring your own wine (no corkage!).
Fish is Awesome and atmosphere is friendly for all – I love the Malibu Seafood shack. I have had all of their grilled fish as well as their deep fried clams. The fish is always fresh. I have purchased fish to take home which is equally delish. The dining situation is perfect for a large group of people who can set themselves up at a long table with some wine tableclothes etc. There is no rush to eat your food and go. It's perfect for a long dinner or a quick nibble. It is also casual enough to take your children without fear... read more
Fresh seafood, a sunset view and bargain prices--this is not just another seaside shack. – The Scene Never mind the no-frills ambience, snag a picnic table with a prime ocean view and gussy it up with a tablecloth, candles and B.Y.O.B. wine. A low-key crowd of wave-worn surfers, casual couples and penny-pinching families belly up to the counter to place their order, then kick back and enjoy the scenery. The Food It's worth braving the weekend lines at this eatery/fish market, where nearly every type of seafood is grilled, st... read more
Not Cheap – This place has a very large menu and just about every seafood you could choose from, but it's not cheap for a little divey place. I had a seabass with a side of cole slaw that was about $20 with tax. That's the price of an entree at a nice sit down seafood restaurant. And the wait was outrageously long. After 30 minutes, I almost went and cancelled my order. And we couldn't find any seats either. If you're driving by and feeling hungry, stop in, but don't make a trip all the way out to Malibu for an unsatisfactor... read more
average - whats the hype? – This place is right up the road from my house making it the easiest and closest thing for me to pick up, however I rarely eat there because the food is extremely unpredictable... some times there is good quality selections and portions however, others there is a completely different story. The fries are nice and thick, but if you want to fill up you will need to dig deep into your pockets. The view is nice from the top patio. Its a good spot to eat if your on the road up north and feeling hungry i... read more
it's alright – I had the fish tacos, they were alright for americanized taco's. If you want fresh seafood that does'nt have that "fishy" taste, this is definetely the place for you. There is nice short hiking trail right next to it, work up your appetite. It's alright....
cheap seafood by the ocean – this place is literally a shack on the beach, with a sitting area. the food is cheap and fresh and you have a great view of the ocean. try the clam chowder or the ahi burger, both are great. they have fish and chips, and various other fresh fish you can have prepared for you. a nice place for lunch on the weekend when you want to get away from the city.
Awesome BYOB seafood shack – This place is my favorite. Everytime someone comes in town I bring them here. Get a couple of dishes, split them, and bring your own beer! Sit overlooking the beach, and enjoy. It is truly the best seafood in Malibu.
Best Fresh Seafood on PCH – I never go to LA/Malibu without stopping by Malibu Seafood to grab some awesome clam chowder in a bread bowl and a squid sandwich. You walk across the street (PCH) and your eating on the beach. Thank God for Malibu Seafood. It's been too long for me, over a year. I'll be back to the West Coast SOON. Save some squid for me. If you drive up PCH from LA and you don't stop at Malibu Seafood, you are missing out on some great food and outside eating at it's best.
