My parents are snowbirds. They asked me to contact Magic Valley to have their power turned back on prior to their arrival as they were driving 4 days to get to their place. I have been on hold for 6 hours and now the on hold music has stopped! The timer us still counting so I'm hoping it wasn't disconnected but this is a very unreasonable wait time. If I could give negative stars I would. Extremely poor customer service as it is non existent.
I’d give MVEC 0 stars because they don’t even deserve the 1! Unfortunately, they are the only provider available in our area and because of that they take advantage of customers! We set up autopay and they cut off our power for “late payment”. How could it be late if we are enrolled in autopay?! Called customer service and they wanted us to pay the reconnection fee for THEIR mistake! This company is an absolute disgrace and the way they take advantage of customers is disgusting.
Absolutely ridiculous “drive out fee” for disconnecting your service if you’re 1 day late. $150 dollars for being a day late. This is predatory against people with low income. How can they charge $150 for sending someone to turn your light off and they won’t reconnect until you pay it. Holy cow is that absolutely disgusting and infuriating. They are the only option you have in the area you live and they know it, so they charge whatever they want.
this is in regards to ******* *******checks MVEC sends out on a yearly basis. I did not receive my check last year. When I called last year I was told it was a computer problem, it was being fixed. I kept calling this year and was told repeatedly it was being fixed. Now one year later I still do not have last years check, neither this year's. I called again recently and was told the same story, it is being fixed! what happens to this money? Is this legal? is MVEC audited by anyone?? anybody else with this problem needs to sp... read more
Abusers of customers, same old problems and never solve their failures. ********* **** **** ******** *** **** ****** **** ****** *** ** **** *** ******* ****** *** ****** *** **** *** ****** ****** **** ******* *****We are having light rain issues and the power goes out like if they turned it off. My mother is on an oxygen machine yet they have had our power off for days and have had to drive my mother to ER in severe weather bc they dont want to put new poles up just fix the old ones they have since the 80s and charge 2020 ... read more
Incompetent. Lost power at 6pm 15Feb21. Have filed outage reports on their website online numerous times and we find out on 18Feb21 that our neighborhood of approx 15 houses in not on their list of outages.. Multiple households reported the outage multiple times. MVEC is nonresponsive.
These outrage responds times are unexceptable. . Mvec really sucks in responding to outages , their app is also inaccurate just like their employees who have no clue when they will restore our power. Everyone in my neighborhood has electricity except for 1 lateral on my neighborhood. Something that can be fixed within minutes rather than days. No help. Mvec management needs to be replaced. The way things are being handled by your team's is unexceptable and really sucks !!!!
When its a problem in their end its always the same bs “we are working hard blah, blah” but when we accidentally miss a due date they disconnect you bright early in the morning the following day and still charge a hefty connection fee total bs yeah its the weather but the same crap happened when the storms hit a while a back if yall cant keep up then don’t MONOPOLIZE the industry by locking residents to only get service with yall.
We have been without light for over 24 hours already in horrible heat unable to sleep at night all the while the food we recently purchased is going bad in the fridge. Absolutely dissapointed in such unprofessional service as to MVEC is vague about when light will be working, stating it'll take "several days". Never experienced such mediocre service wish I could switch from this company unfortunately this light company has a monopoly on our area and we are unable to switch to any other provider.
Business response:
I'm sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with Magic Valley EC. As a cooperative, we strive to provide our members with reliable power, and we believe that we do a great job in that area. We have built a reliable system to keep up with the growth that we have seen in the Valley. As with any other electric utility in the Nation, a hurricane can cause a tremendous amount of damage on the electric grid. Our crews have been working since Saturday to restore power to the 85,000+ members that were affected by Hurricane Hanna. T... read more
