Maggiano's Little Italy at Dallas is a beautiful re-creation of the traditional, neighborhood, family-run Italian-American cafe of the 1930s and 1940s. Eclectic décor highlighting Italian tastes, dark woods, gleaming floors, sparkling mirrors and crisp white linens give Maggiano's an upscale feel. Definitely not Food Court OK, it is stuck in a mall. But this is Northpark Mall. This is a Dallas institution and a great place for a business lunch or family dinner. Be forewarned that the servings are often family style, so make sure to ask and listen to your waiter. The service is always excellent and one other tip ... call ahead for a reservation unless you don't mind waiting.

The best deal is for parties of 4 or more by ordering off of the family style menu. The house salad and fried zucchini is favorite, along with the veal raviolis. If you don't fill up on appetizers and entrees, try their fabulous desserts.
