My husband, 16 month old son, and I were visiting my brother and sister in law this past weekend and they took us to Magee’s for the first time. We were happily greeted and the owner offered us a donut on the house for our son. My sister in law leaned over from the cash register next to us to let him know it was our first time there and he bought our entire meal! WOW! We were passing through on a long car ride and searched for breakfast food near us. Amongst the few that showed up was Magee’s Bakery. With Magee being my maiden name, there was no better choice! We had a croissant sandwich and a bagel sandwich. Both cooked to perfection! And fully loaded with deliciousness. My family and I are from Lexington and Magee’s has always been our favorite bakery! Best donuts, cakes, and cookies in town! Since moving away, they do not have the cookies readily available and these are my mom’s favorite and no other cookie compares. Megan was wonderful to work with- she made sure on Monday that an order of cookies was ready for my mom on today (and gave a few extra). They are the nicest employees there and just showcase Lexington’s southern hospitality! Go here if you get a chance!
Elaine was super nice. They were out of pastry but she gave me some coffee on the house. Can't speak for the doughnuts but I'll be back to see. :)
