370 miles from home but an excellent place to eat. I have enjoyed it each time I have ate there.
Great food, atmosphere and beer!
I love this place! I've been coming to this bar, before I can even remember. 1st. The tap! always has the best beer in Stillwater. 2nd. The food! Burgers are the way to go. But sometime the walleye sandwich gets me. 3rd. Downtown has this old historic look and this bar has that down. The look of this place is like of an old-time saloon. I love it! If a man was limited to one bar for the rest of his life.... I'd be happy as could be with The Mad Capper.

Didn't serve #Surly beer, Minnesota's most award winning micro brew, handcrafted in Minneapolis, did serve stale popcorn and corndogs.

Good food. Good beer. – We have been going to the Mad Capper for 20 + years. Always good service, good food, good beer. Can't say one negative thing. The waitstaff are friendly and we have never felt rushed to leave. Can't say enough.
Mad Capper: Great Ambiance and Beer – I am not sure what some of the other reviewers (probably Bud Light drinkers) were thinking about the Mad Capper, but whenever I am down in Stillwater, this bar is a must stop. They change up the microbrews each month, and they are outstanding. When the legendary Bells Hopslam comes out in January, they have it along with many other great varieties.
