We have eaten at the mad batter many times before in the 28 years we have been going to Cape May. However, we never had breakfast. Well, this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Cape May. We will certainly be visiting them again for breakfast the next time we go down.
The Mad Batter has been a family favorite for many years and lived up our expectations in every way this year, including our most recent visit yesterday. The food, drinks, and waitstaff are great. The newly renovated porch is comfortable and charming. Already looking forward to next time.
It's like the old hair commercial, I don't just play at The Mad Batter I am indeed a customer, it's one of my main spots to take Suzan out, I've been frequenting the Batter since 1977,that summer I had breakfast there almost every day of the week as my drummer friend had a room next door at what was then called the Lyhano,and the Batter had rocking chairs on the porch. Well a truly awesome jazz festival weekend Nov 2017,food and drinks rockin with the staff and Music !!!
We took the family out Thursday night and it was FABULOUS!!! The food was great, service was awesome and we ate on the new porch! There was even live music❤️💕❤️ Can’t wait to go back!!!
The breakfast on the porch was amazing, including the the drinks of manmosa and bloody Mary.
Had chicken wings that we're delicious, and a pretty good selection of beers for a small bar. My "scratch" margarita was ok. Too much sour mix or something. The bartenders were nice but hard to get service. Ended up leaving our seats and asking the bartender to put our food in and get our drinks. Met a few awesome locals and happened to be there when a 95 year old WWII veteran/prisoner of war got up and sang a verse of my way by Sinatra.
