The first Macado’s restaurant was opened in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It soon became popular for its eclectic ambiance of cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decor, as well as its wide array of hearty yet modestly-priced sandwiches, subs, and entrees. Great place to eat and just relax
The atmosphere is just as described. It's fun and definitely meant for a college town. I had never been to this location before and had to try it out. Didn't even know there was another outside of Farmville. Our waitress was on top of everything. Had 3 in our party. Loved the fried chicken on artisan bun and macaroni and cheese. I love Macados! I come weekly for their 39 cent wing deal which is hard to beat. The food is always fresh and with the deal they run twice a week it is a truly amazing value for the quality and portion of food you receive for the price! The entire staff is always kind and makes sure that my order is correctly fulfilled.
