Not worth it When I was a student at RC this place was great. Good atmosphere for drinking, food ok, and everything else (service, etc.) was ok. However, the last 5 visits I've had to Bobs have been nothing but headaches. At first I thought this would be hard, writing a bad review for the place I used (I emphasize "used") to eat. However, after todays lunch that was the last straw. We waited 40 min for our food (has happened the last 3 times), waited 15 min from the waiter giving us our check to when we could hand him our cr... read more
a local favorite in downtown Salem Mac N Bobs is one of the local favorite spots in downtown Salem. I can remember having dinner there on special days in high school, and business lunches there as a young adult. The service is great, the food is delicious and the owners are genuinely concerned with providing the highest quality meals they possibly can. We still make it a point to stop in while we're in town and it has continued to be a favorite.
Worth the stop Great atmosphere, service & food. Prices reasonable. Loved the outdoor seating area. My family of 5 stopped there and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We are a family who enjoys cooking and rarely find a restaurant that passes muster, this one did. Pittsburgh NY strip highly recommended!
Mac N Bobs Review The best eatery in the heart of Salem, Virginia. This southern, down-home family restaurant has the best reubens and calzones in Salem. The prices are reasonable and well-worth it. The staff is trained to be there for you and only you. You will never find yourself wanting anything but the enjoyment of the company you are with.
Very good, convenient We had a delightful dinner at Mac & Bob's as we traveled through Salem last fall. Everything was top-notch. We got a taste of genuine Southern hospitality and excellent food.
