Love this place!
Impressive.
I made the mistake of going on a holiday weekend. The place was packed and the majority of people were foreigners who didn’t speak English and paid no attention to any of the directions to not touch or to keep walking. There were also plenty of screaming kids and babies to disrupt the atmosphere and clog the walkway with their strollers. I don’t know why I was expecting a calm, reverent atmosphere of appreciation toward nature but that was not the case at all. Very nice and interesting place. Personally I prefer Skyline Caverns better, but Luray Caverns is definitely worth a visit.
My husband and I went yesterday to see the Caverns. It was very interesting. Great experience.
Wonderful place
I think it would have been awesome if it weren’t for so many rude people. You either had to follow the guide around basically standing on his heels or you couldn’t hear a thing. There were 35-40 people in our group we were all told not to touch anything. Many ignored the staff to the extent of drinking water out of the “puddles”, touching and even LICKING the rock forms!!!!
