Took my family on July 3rd. We knew it would be busy and we were right! The wait was about an hour to get into the caverns. The staff were helpful and had canopies and misting fans out so people in line were comfortable. Honestly the wait was not that bad. After we were inside the cavern was worth the wait. Such an amazing natural wonder. Tour guides were strategically placed through the cave to offer information and answer questions which kept traffic flowing with the large number of people in the cave. This is so far the top on the list of my most wanted sites to visit in the US in my lifetime ! We were so surprised that we got in within 30 mins inspite of the long line that i think will take us an hour if we had fallen in line for the tour itself ! The ticket line has 2 lines and it went so quick plus the discount ( SC disct). The tour sight is excellent, but the company that is Jojo and Jing are the best - good company as well as great host /hostess. Thanks to God they are my friends . TY.
The caves get a 5+ star rating-- the facility, not so much. Disorganized procedures and screaming children plus people taking selfies every 3 seconds nearly ruined the entire experience. We knew to expect crowds on a holiday weekend, but things were terribly disorganized. When we arrived, there were no directional signs, and we could see a huge long line of people about 4-6 abreast, but weren't sure where the line actually began. Very beautiful and interesting. We went for my husbands birthday yesterday, being a holiday weekend it was understandably packed. My only advice was the bathroom was very hard to get to, and only 3 stalls for all of these people. Could have been better thought out. Other than that, great time!
One of my favorite places to visit!! We went to Luray for my birthday as a child (roughly 20 years ago). I loved it so much that I consider it one of my best birthdays to this day! We were in the area this past weekend and made a second trip. Visitinf Luray was a birthday gift from my brother. The caverns are stunning. They are vast and have so many beautiful natural features.
