The best hospital in the world
The nurses and medical staff went above my expectations. It's a wonderful hospital. There are smaller things I don't like about the protocols, however the personnel are amazing.
My 15 yo had knee surgery to repair a floating kneecap. The surgery was complicated and lasted almost 6 hrs. The surgeon, rec we stay overnight, which we did. The staff we met before surgery was great at putting us to ease and the Dr's ( all of them) were patient and explained the planned procedure thoroughly. The staff in the SSU area who took care of us overnight were amazing! Charlene, Matt and Lea (sp?s) were terrific and kept us comfortable and taken care of! I delivered my first child at LPCH. I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Coleman and Jen, RN as my delivery team. Jen is an amazing nurse who asked and listened to my wishes. She respected them and advocated for them as well. She always made me feel calm and thoroughly explained everything. She deserves a Daisy award (yes, I nominated her). I'd like to thank all the doctors, nurses and therapists at both the NICU and ICN for not only saving my life and my son's life, but for letting me be emotional throughout the journey and giving us grace to be human.
