Overpriced, small menu – This place has the most expensive drinks in town. I ordered a pasta dinner that was $12.50. My wife ordered a pizza that was $12.00. We each had a martini before our meal. I ordered a second one during dinner. The martini's are $10 per drink. This was not a fancy schmancy martini. It was a bombay saphire martini with olives. I have never paid $10 for a martini in Portland, not even in the Pearl district or at downtown restaurants. Bottom line, despite the fact that I live in the neighborhood, I am no... read more

Must try. – have been twice for brunch on sunday and for dinner. the cheese plate was top notch, the pizza with the fennel sausage was excellent, and another appetizer that was the deep fried goat cheese with a garlic dipping sauce was another great choice. the appetizers alone are a good reason to go. brunch was an unhurried event, in a relaxed and quiet setting. both times i have dined here the noise level was really non existant, its on fremont which has several restaurants i frequent so i am familiar with the area. brunc... read more

Just OK – The restaurant itself is great inside, however the food was just OK. Nothing to bring me back or remember it. Such a bummer considering the location and atmosphere. Drinks were standard but way overpriced, waitstaff was fine, overall nothing to make it stand out.

So far, so good – As I live in the neighborhood, I've been to Lucca 3 times now, and each time has been a pleasant experience. I've found the wait staff, bartenders, and owners to be friendly and expedient. The specialty drinks can be off and on, but the wine selections struck me as perfectly adequate and reasonably priced. As for the food, I haven't had a bad meal yet, although the pork was a bit fatty last time, but still tasty. All in all, I enjoy it more overall than the previous 3 restaurants that have died on that corn... read more

bland, bland, bland – The pizza I received was bland, overpriced, the cheese wasn't even all the way melted. And it was so small, it'd have been better suited as an appetizer. My mom ordered pasta and didn't finish it, although I can't say for sure why. Beers are five dollars (ridiculous) and taste like beer you'd get anywhere. This restaurant is trying too hard, and doesn't belong in this neighborhood. Our server came by for our drink order, but the busser did more of the work. He even delivered our food. Our server returne... read more

Good Food, Noisy Setting – We dropped in on Friday evening and although the place was fairly full we got seating for two with no waiting. The decor is very nice and a great improvement over the last restaurant in this space. The food was not fantastic but it was good and a good value for the price. The service was terrific - friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The down side was the noise level -- at times the noise was almost painful. Because of the noise, it will be awhile before we go back. For anyone who doesn... read more

Outstanding food & upscale ambience at this welcoming Italian Eatery – Wow, I've been here several times and have vowed to keep coming back until I have tried everything on the menu. (I'm nearly there) Everything I have eaten at Lucca is fantastic. I'm originally from Boston, and have a hard time finding great pizza outside of Boston's North End, but at Lucca, thanks to their wood-fired pizzas, my longing is over. The food is gourmet but never pretentious, the salcicce pizza (Salami) is out of this world. And that goes for t... read more
