I came to LoveJoy’s Real Ice Cream in Boise for the first time and was really excited to try it after seeing so many great reviews. Unfortunately, while the ice cream itself was good, the customer service was extremely disappointing. I ordered a simple scoop of coffee ice cream with fudge and sliced almonds. I had looked at the menu beforehand and saw sliced almonds listed as a topping. When I asked about them, the employee told me they never had sliced almonds. This is one of my favorite ice cream textures in town, and other than Cold Stone the only place you can find a “sweet cream” in the form of Danish Cream. Generally speaking the quality of the ice cream is top notch and the flavors taste real and not artificial, but a the sacrifice of bold taste.
Creamy ice cream, good texture, but flavors more subtle than other ice creams.
