One of our most precious natural state parks. Breathtaking views of our Texas Hill Country.
An awesome hike! (11/14/13) got there at 9:30 am. plenty of parking. Foliage was barely changing colors but still beautiful. Most of the bright red and orange colors were in the Maple Trail area. Bring plenty of water. Suggestions: Skip the West Loop Trail. Very steep hike and nothing really exiting to see since is mostly rocks and unpleasant shrubs that block views in any direction. Even though I didnt camp this time, I suggest primitive campsite "B" = is one of the highest points, great for starry nights, close to the over... read more
