Loma 21 starts out as a poorly constructed newer property with a prime Point Loma location. This is a gated community promises a quiet, secure, drug free zone ( including smoking). Which makes it ideal for federal and military renters looking for a place close to work in San Diego. Within the past year however, after most of the longer term residents renewed their leases, the company decided to sign an agreement with Waunderjaunt to allow extra units to become AirBnB rentals. They refuse to take responsibility for the short term renters so residents are calling security and/or the police daily for parties, drug use, harassment issues inside the gated areas. Imagine paying a premium for a lease that includes a smoke free property only to be woken up in the early morning because YOUR own apartment is filled with smoke seeping through the walls from a one night party rental. For context we keep whole room filters in every room with the windows closed and it still gets overpowered during parties. Keep in mind these guests do not adhere to the closure of amenities, wear masks, and are traveling from outside the local area during the COVID lockdown. Even if you shelter at home here you are not safe. Loma Pallisades will bring the virus home to you. Now that you have pictured long term sleepless nights and unlivable conditions in a place you pay extra for......imagine if you had to work from home as well now it becomes a 24/7 revolving door nightmare. Once a guest is fined or managed by local police and they start to understand that the residents won't tolerate it; a new guest comes to take their place. Wanderjaunt and Loma Pallisades both direct residents to call security or the police, both companies refuse to take responsibility for maintaining the peace and atmosphere guaranteed by the lease agreements. The residents here are beyond upset.
