We had a great weekend camping here with the kids. Pro: fun beach for swimming close to campground, beach didn’t get overcrowded even on a hot Saturday, both sand/grass and sun/ shade options at the lake, shaded campsites, nice playgrounds, good bike path. Con: dirty bathrooms, camping spots very close together.
fishing, sites, and bathroom/showers
It was very disappointing to drive 3.5 hours to camp here for five days, and at no time being told the lake is closed for swimming. Nothing was announced on this page, and nothing was said to us as we were checking in. We didn’t find out until we had already set up camp and walked down to see the swimming area. It has been closed since Wednesday morning (7/10). If we had known this ahead of time, we would have gone somewhere else. It is a beautiful setting and great potential but the lack of cleanliness was very disappointing. That may be due to an individual lazy camp host but I traveled some distance to get here so I will look for an alternative park.
very quiet place nice to take the family camping, swimming and fishing.
The lake looks lovely. Nice walking path around the lake. Water sports.
The Scenery is beautiful and the water refreshing
I love locust lake! I have been going here since a child! We camp and visit. There's a sand beach and swimming area, hiking trails, and a paved trail around the lake. The camp store is a little pricey but they have great ice cream! They also have boat rentals including paddle boats!! There is also I believe two boat ramps to bring your own boats. There are 3 docks on the lake, 2 floating and 1 wooden one which is really nice. This is one of my favorite places to go!
The roads are so bad, the sites are very uneven, it was a challenge getting backed into the spot— too many trees at driveways and corners— very difficult to maneuver—- they just need to put some work into this park before I’d come back
