I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Locale East Austin. The property is in an incredible location—just a block from East 6th Street—which offered the perfect balance of peace and quiet while being steps away from great restaurants and cafes on E 6th St. The building is sleek and modern, with a high-tech setup that made check-in completely seamless—no front desk needed and easy access. Good location, nice apartment (although the bathroom electrical outlet did not work), bad check in (stuck outside due to wrong door lock PIN provided, had to call the hotline as there is no reception) and bad check out (got kicked out by cleaning staff at exactly 11:00am, that’s way too aggressive and they charge you incremental fees per every 30 min beyond 11:00am which just feels like a money grab).
We would have loved to have nothing but amazing things to say about this place, sadly, there were two issues that really ruined the entire experience. 1. Like others have mentioned, the AC did not work. We thought, surely by now it would be fixed! Oh how wrong we were. This was fine during the day since we were out and about, but sleeping became difficult. 2. This one also made it difficult to sleep. There were huge cockroaches. See the attached pics. The room itself was clean and well decorated. I felt really safe during my stay and love that the building is secured access. Super walkable area with plenty to do! Heating worked during the 20-35°f weather which was nice as well. The front door seal wasn't great so the air was much colder in the kitchenette area. I paid for late checkout and they had changed the code to my room an hour before I was set to leave. I was locked out and it took about 15 minutes for them to issue me a new code.
