I, along with apparently everyone else writing a review, bought one of the discount packages from a guy off the street. I have purchased many groupons and discount packages, and have NEVER received this poor of service. I purchased a $75 package at Liz Russell for a wash and cut. After my hair was washed and the stylist was brushing it, I noticed there were reddish/pinkish streaks throughout a portion of my hair. At first, the stylist tried to tell me the streaks were natural. I have very blonde hair and my hair has never been dyed red or pink. I was very upset and kept asking the stylist what could have caused this problem. Was recommended here from concierge at the Plaza. Maribel was my colorist. She listened intently to what I wanted and had to do a color correction from previous improper color at another salon. I could not be happier Maribel is wonderful at color. I give her 5 stars.. so happy to find someone who really knows how to color hair. Try Maribel you will not be sorry. I will be going back on a regular basis.

Shame on you Liz Russell! For about nine months now, I’ve been trying to refrain from exposing the truth about the Liz Russell Salon in NYC. Sorry Liz, I can’t hold back any longer and I believe it is my duty to let the world know how unethical and unprofessional you are. To cut a long story short, my daughter and I paid $800 to get the Aveda Smooth Infusion Treatment at the Liz Russell Salon in NYC last December. wonderful service – I was warmly greeting by the front desk. I didn't know who was cutting my hair, but when the front desk said "Hannah is phenomenal" I immediately felt comfortable with the stylist who would be cutting my hair. I've always had trouble explaining what i wanted. Hannah listened patiently and did a wonderful job. Another thing that stuck out big time for me was the professional atmosphere. Cheap Work, Stay away from Liz Russell Salon – I had such a bad experience there, the color done by Liz was awful, hard to believe it was done by a professional! I had to get it fix in another salon!!!!!! they are also rude and arrogant, and certainly not the best way to deal with clients! never again!

They will WASTE your time and money! – I don't even want to give a star. It was awful!!!!! They scheduled me a 9:00 clock appointment on Saturday. I was there at 8:45 with other guests waiting outside the salon in a freezing morning. No one show up till 9:28. And the only person showed up was a receptionist. When my job relocated to this area, I was looking for a new salon close by and decided to try Liz Russell. I love Aveda products and gave it a try. The first time I went in I just had a blowout and was happy with the results. I then decided to try Liz Russell for a haircut. When I called to schedule the appointment, I explained that I was new and asked who the receptionist would recommend.
