A lot of big hearted people here. I adopted a puppy yesterday and I was very impressed with the level of devotion that was evident from the staff and volunteers. I put in my application and heard back from them the same day, and picked out a puppy the next day. I was given very reasonable terms for the adoption and was very happy to get a wonderful lil dog to join our family. A very good experience and well worth the cost of adoption.

We were so lucky to be picked to adopt Ava & Tony a few months ago. They are the sweetest babies we could ask for & very smart pups. Thank you for all you do for the pets.

This was our first experience adopting a shelter baby and we'll never do it any other way! The LCHS staff take such wonderful care of all the babies and were very honest about the personalities of the ones we were looking at. They take the time to ask about you and your home so they can help you make the right fit! Thank you everyone so much! We love our new baby!

My mom tried to adopt a kitten for my daughter from here and she was denied. All because apparently they don't do that kind of thing even though on the application it asks if the animal is a gift. Why put that on there then? You had all of the information you needed about me and my two dogs so I don't know what the issue was. You seem to not want to adopt out any fur babies based on the experiences I have heard from others. So sad they won't get their forever homes.

Business response:

I am so sorry that we could not accommodate your family. As said on the phone your daughter can fill out an application for herself. It is up to the adoption committee who gets adopted to which family.

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Their care for the animals showed in their attitudes and process to place each animal with a family that the dog will truly mesh with.

We're from the Quad Cities and drove up to see a dog that we found on the petfinder website. We were pleasantly surprised at how many volunteers there were and everyone was so friendly! We were also surprised at how many dogs were being walked outside on their several acres of land. The Livingston County Humane Society is doing a great job and the animals seemed so happy there. We were excited that we were able to walk the dog outside and get to play with her by ourselves in one of the viewing rooms. I definitely would recom... read more
