Warning to renters: Living Room was recently voted “Best Real Estate Company,” but our experience was the exact opposite of what that title suggests. We were approved for a unit in North Portland, only to find it in shockingly poor condition compared to the bright, clean photos they used to advertise it. The unit had discoloration on the floors and baseboards, signs of water damage, foundation cracks, and areas that looked like possible mold growth — none of which were shown or disclosed. Seth, Living Room's leasing coordinator, and Janelle, one of Living Room's tour guides were incredibly responsive, helpful, and friendly. They made navigating the application process much smoother than it could have been, and now my girlfriend and I are excited to move into our new rental!
I don’t typically ever share reviews, but this feels like prudent information to put out there for both tenants and owners. This property management company does not care for their tenants and is extremely hard to get into contact with. As a tenant, I would strongly recommend against signing a lease with them as my experience has been very negative. We had a broken window and Christian from maintenance came by and got it all sealed up for us. Really friendly guy and great customer service. Came within the time frame provided and was quick and efficient!
Rented a home with living room as the property management company. I have nothing but good things to say - I'd definitely rent another home if they were the property management company. Exceedingly professional, responsive in case of emergencies, and thorough. I have homes in other states and I was jealous of all of the benefits they provided to the homeowner...
