Dr. Liu was just fine but I feel like he explained all my test results in layman's terms, which unfortunately made me misunderstand the fact I have a form of epilepsy. Along with that the front desk staff has made it nearly impossible to get help. I've been put on hold for 45 minutes, hung up and called back for them to immediately take my call, bad management skills. Had scheduled appointment for my son with Dr. Jiangping Liu August 9, 2022. The patient is a student and he is diagnosed with seizure disorder. A Seizure Action Plan is required to administer emergency medication on campus. Pharmacy called me because the prescription could not be filled due to dosing instructions being unclear. I spoke with Dr. Liu today, August 11, 2022 and shared that all previous dosing instructions stated "dissolve 1 tablet inside cheek as needed for seizures as directed by doctor". I’ve had 2 appointments and been prescribed different meds both times not because the previous meds didn’t work but because he never submitted the paperwork to insurance. I called every week for 5 weeks to get it sent through then at my second appointment told him I still didn’t have the medications. He gave me different meds and say it may just take time to get them through 5 months later I still don’t have any meds. It takes a total of 2 days to submit the paperwork and get it approved by insurance. That’s how long my prev... read more
I have always received excellent care from Dr.Liu since 2005. He is definitively one of the most caring doctors I have had in my life. He is extremely knowledgeable and competent, and a true patient advocate. I hope he never leaves Texas Health Care.
Dr. Liu saw me on an emergency basis after a prior procedure with another physician. I was in a lot of pain. Dr Liu’s Office took me in and within a short time diagnosed intracranial hypotensive positional headache. He validated my feelings of pain/discomfort, explained that this was not uncommon following a LP I had and prescribed appropriate medication. I have a follow up appointment scheduled. I will definitely use Dr. Liu as my neurologist.
I was mistakenly in my last review. I found that Dr. Liu does not care or respect a patient's dignity I'm sorry to say.
I highly recommend this physician and his staff. They went above and beyond in getting me in and providing answers to my questions.
Nurse Pat and Dottie are a bit rude, whether on the phone or in person. They are short with you (and other patients, too!) I am considering changing neurologists because of this reason. Currently, as I am waiting (45 mins now) Pat is working the front desk and she is being loud and complaining about the calls she’s having to make and how she’s having to call back for authorizations. It’s a shame when patients feel that they have to apologize to you for your attitude.
It was the first time seeing Dr Liu. I was very satisfied with the professionalism and bedside manner of the Dr and staff. They were proficient and personable; Dr Liu was direct and to the point in explaining and managing my seizures.
