One of Our favorite places!! – We have only been here twice, both times we have had a blast!!! My boyfriend has discovered Sushi and loves it! Me- not so much! I usually order Blackend Fish and it has been delicious both times. We sit at the bar and the bartenders are great! Can't wait to go back!!
NOT authentic sushi. – The sushi falls apart once you pick it up, they don't use the correct type of rice for it. I know it is also a Thai, Filipino and maybe chinese restaurant? Well not all rice is made equal so you can't use Thai or Filipino rice for making a Japanese dish, especially not sushi. Just like you could not use Japanese rice to make a Thai or Filipino dish. Also, the wait was very long. I've never tried any of their Thai dishes, but I know from my boyfriend and roommate that their Filipino dishes aren't too au... read more
My favorite sushi joint! – I love Little Tree. Try the Ono or Escolar if you like straight fish, or the King Kong roll and theLittle Tree Roll are my other favorites. Excellent food, reasonably priced for what you are getting, and a fun atmosphere. It gets very busy on the weekend, but worth the wait!
THE BEST! – This is the best Sushi in the United States. I have eaten at all of them from the West Coast to the East Coast. Little Tree rocks them all!
Good sushi, nice atmosphere – We eat at Little Tree regularly. It's our answer to "what's for dinner" when we don't feel like cooking. It's not fancy, but not dumpy either. Rather a comfortable location with consistently good food. We usually eat sushi here, though their other selections of Asian food are good, too. Though it does get busy on weekends, and you may have to wait a bit, it's worth it if you want to stay in the downtown Royal Oak area.
This place is perhaps the "Chili's" of asian-esque food - I do not eat here if you are expecting good food... – 7/13/07 We went to Little Tree on a Friday night - and as we expected the restaurant was quite busy. The location seems to be what drives the crowds as it certainly wasn't the food. Little Tree's menu is split into 3 cuisines: Japanese, Thai and Philippino (we did not try any of the Philippino foods). My party ordered some sushi: Saba nigiri, Spicy California roll, Pickle-Radish roll, Spicy Scallop nigiri. We also ... read more
Hands Down, The Best!!! – I have to say that this is the best sushi I have ever had. I have been going there for a long time, still the service is great, food is awesome, and I love the atmosphere. Great place to take a date, this place is happening!! Great job Shep!!!
Great pick for those new to sushi – Great place to meet coworkers and business associates. I first visited this restaurant with a former boss, who knows good sushi, and it was one of his favorite restaurants. I was a relative newbie to the sushi experience, but absolutely loved everything he ordered for us (which was quite a bit). The waitress was very helpful (and patient) with all my questions, and very accomodating to special requests. Highly recommend for those new to Japanese cuisine.
I'LL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN – - The food was simply edible, very bland. - We were seated promptly, but not noticed for several minutes by our waitress, even though the restaurant was not busy. - After taking several minutes to (finally) take our order, our waitress was overall very rude. I later called to complain and the manager would not even state that she would speak to the waitress regarding her conduct. Needless to say, I've "written-off" this restaurant.
