Edit: After another year of living at Cooper, we've just received notice that our rent is increasing over 9% next renewal, basically the maximum Thrive can pull without paying penalties through the City of Seattle. The staff here are friendly and hard working but Thrive as a company has made zero improvements that are worth this amount of increase. In fact, the building is chronically in disrepair. An update to this review: The north-side elevator has been out most of the time for the last two weeks. It’s been “repaired” for a few hours at a time, only to break again. This cycle has been happening nearly every month for about six months. Instead of addressing the root cause, management seems to rely on temporary fixes, even if the elevator fails again within hours. If you are looking for: Consistent management Quiet courtyards Properly maintained facilities Trash areas that aren’t piled high every week A working elevator Clean hallways You may want to look elsewhere. I have lived in this building for 10 years, moving in just after new owners purchased it in 2015. At first, we saw real improvements—the building was cared for, and management made an effort.
