Placed my son's shunt in the wrong place. The shut was in the cyst because that is where the previous Dr. found it worked best. He decided to put it in the ventricule. Son still had headaches after surgery. He told us it is like getting a new pair of shoes, he needed to break it in. After 3 .onths of headaches we drove to Chicago and saw his old neurosurgeon. She did the surgery and informed us the shut was in the wrong place. Our son was back to normal the next day! Wouldn't recommend Dr. Lin for your Neurologist.
I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor. We brought my 6 year old son in because he had a MRI which showed a Chiari 1 malformation with near complete effacement of the CSF signal. We were referred by our endocrinologist. He walked in and said,"Why are you here?". Okay. We told him thw findings and basically wanted to know what to watch for and if this was causing any of the issues he has been having. He totally blew us off. Dr. Lin has been seeing my daughter since she was 18months old she is now 17 and he is awesome with her. She had a AVM embolism and had to have 20 coils put in and spent 11 days in ICU and he was there all the time with us and he has been with us all throughout the years, it is going to sad that in December will be our last visit with him when she turns 18. I highly recommend him.
Dr Lin has done several of my shunt revisions and his demeanor puts me at ease!!
