BEWARE: The restaurant adds a 16% charge to the bill for front of house employees and an additional 4% charge which the restaurant keeps to cover "higher costs". While this is at the bottom of the menu, it is easy to miss. When the bill comes, these charges are already added in. But there is also a line to add a tip, with suggested percentages. So, if you are not careful, you could end up tipping 40% or more. As for the food, service, and atmosphere, they were all outstanding.
I visited this restaurant for a dinner to celebrate my very close friends birthday. Upon arrival, the restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff at the door were friendly. Since we were a larger party, we gathered near the bar area waiting to be seated. Once seated for dinner, we were informed that several members of our party were unable to order drinks due to our Drivers License’s being vertical. Went to Limani for dinner this evening to celebrate a friends birthday. Overall, the experience was fine but I wouldn’t recommend it or go back. The majority of our party was denied drinks for either having a vertical government issued ID or international ID. The policy seemed a bit arbitrary and as a bartender, it seemed they just didn’t have staff knowledgeable on actually checking the validity of IDs. Here on business. This place is gorgeous and the customer service and food are equally amazing!! I recommend Lenfant Plaza Metro (B Exit) but it's nice that public parking garage is a few feet away!! I truly love finding hidden Gems in DC.
